The gardens are spacious and the birds numerous. Our beds were comfortable, the bathroom adequate. We had meat to store and Dave reminded us of the freezer space available in addition to the small fridge in the room.
Breakfast was full 'English' and delicious.

We used Sunbird Lodge as a stop over from Mozambique back to Johannesburg and were hosted in Heron Cottage. Others in our group were hosted in two double rooms.
Facilities were great with a lovely bar area and beautiful gardens.
Our hosts directed us to a great pub and grill after two weeks of eating fish in Mozambique.
We personally did not have breakfast as we made our way home, but others in our group stayed an extra day and said that the breakfasts were great.
I would highly recommend this lodge for anybody looking at staying in the area.

I recommend the place to anyone who wants a bushveld experience (1,5 km to the Kruger gate) with a close proximity to town (another 1.5km to Pick n Pay in a Mall). Talk about the best of both worlds.
