"With its location close to Kloof street and surrounded by hipster restaurants, we were concerned with potential noise levels. But, as promised by the staff, our executive room was surprisingly quiet - a welcome surprise that allowed us to indulge in urban raucousness but regain our middle-aged suburban sanity in the quiet containment of our suite. The loft suite was light, bright and well appointed with delightful contemporary decor. The staff were friendly, helpful and once again, young and energetic. Perhaps the only criticism is that we would have preferred an extra length king bed, greater tv channel offering and a consistent mid-morning cleaning service. Other than that, we would gladly return to this delightful small hotel."

A computer in our room (wonderful for sending emails to friends back home about our travels). Three great restaurants right on site, with yummy food and easy billing to the room. Safe parking. Terrific neighborhood for walking to other restaurants. and wonderful, helpful staff - they even helped us get our laundry done! We highly recommend it, and stay there again if ever in Cape Town."

"I recently stayed at the Hippo Boutique for six nights. I found the hotel to be excellent value for the price. My room was of quality comparable to larger more expensive hotels in Cape Town. The bed was wonderful, there was abundant hot water, and the kitchen unit was functional and attractive. The high-speed network connection, although occassionally down, was a positive for me. The hardwood floors were a nice touch, but could be a bit noisy at times. The people at the hotel were always friendly and helpful. I also enjoyed the nearby restaurants, and I felt quite comfortable walking in the area both day and night. I would certainly be happy to return here if in Cape Town again."

"It's very simple and the room and the service were perfect, but the best is the people who work there.

Best and warm regards for all.
