Just wished we had knowledge of this. The setting is beautiful and saw more wildlife than ever imagined here including a caracal ! Definitely would recommend and return. On warmer days there is a lovely pool and low tide snorkelling etc. But we missed out due to weather. Loved it. "

Also, we booked a table at the restaurant at 9 pm and had to wait until 9:45 pm before the table was available. Because of this we were the last guests and felt a little stressed when desert was served and the staff obviously wanted to call in the day. However, the food and drinkes were very good!

As birdwatchers, we particularly booked the vlei cottage and would not have booked in the village so free breakfasts were not really compensation.

I spoke to the booking clerk who said she had emailed me the previous day but the only email I received was on the morning of our arrival.

Eventually we were offered free dinner as well and the posibility of moving into the manor house for our second night but as the water was cut off in most of the complex while we were there but remained on in the village cottage we were in, we stayed put.

The cottage was well furnished and very pleasant but very close to the road and we were woken by traffic at 5am both mornings.

The staff were all very pleasant and helpful.

The restaurant served good though not outstanding food and we thought the choice [only 2 options for each course] rather limited.

The place itself is beautiful but as a couple slightly expensive."
