"Hildesheim is a gem of a place, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the room was sparkling clean every day. The owners are very helpful and friendly and made our stay feel like a proper holiday. The cons about Hildesheim are far outweighed by the pro’s. The only negative thing I can say is that the water taps are either scalding hot or ice cold, there is no in between and the water pressure is a bit wonky. Also the ants find any wrapper left out and in the morning you find yourself a nice little ants nest (this however is cleaned as soon as the cleaners are gone, and not the fault of the guesthouse or owner). "

Tony and Vanessa are very kind and friendly hosts who go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The Wilderness is a great place for a family holiday. The beaches are amazing with long stretches of white sand. There are life guards on duty, parking and toilet facilities. The restaurants are a fantastic surprise with award winning dishes and super friendly service. Wilderness is smack between Knysna and George with walking and cycling trails, numerous activities and abundant wildlife with Wetlands all around. All in all an excellent place for an awesome holiday"

Nestled in the mountains a few kilometres from the charming Wilderness Village we found the location peaceful and convenient.
Tony and Vanessa are excellent hosts and a good source of suggestions for interesting sightseeing and dining in the area. If you visit over the weekend be sure to visit the Sedgefield and George Farmers Markets - both within 20kms of Hildesheim.
Highly recommended for restful accommodation in one of the most beautiful parts of the world with and inviting pool to refresh after an exciting day of visiting the many local sights and attractions.
If you enjoy eating out there are a number of excellent restaurants in the village and vicinity - we visited Salinas-The Girls - and Beejuice and were impressed by all.

Though i had asked the owner about the history of the place, i would have liked a short history/collage of the place displayed either in the dining room or the sitting room of the unit we stayed it.

Although I saw already more than 660 species of birds in Southern Africa, in Hildesheim I found in one day 2 more species, new to me. Even the famous Knysna Turaco is present daily. But this is not the only thing. The garden is beautiful, the breakfast is excellent and the rooms are surprisingly clean and hospitable. There is attention for details: fresh flowers on the towels! We really regret that we booked for two days only. Many good reasons to come back again for a longer stay."
