"Our stay at Elephant Lake was most memorable as a couple, as it was our honeymoon. The service from the staff was most professional. The location of the hotel is excellent because it is a minute away from everything! We were called in the morning by a staff member to remind us that breakfast would be ending soon and that we should come down, so as not to miss out on a meal. This made us feel like family, not just guests at the hotel. The peace and serenity is unbelievable. St Lucia definitely lives up to its name Isimangaliso, God's wonder. The sounds of the hippos greeting us in the early hours of the morning is surely something to come back to. The view from any of the rooms at Elephant Lake Hotel is mesmerizing! A fond memory of Elephant Lake will be the hippos coming to the pool area to chew on some sweet grass. Even the hippos want to experience Elephant Lake! The picturesque lake is divinity personified! You may wonder if you are looking at a postcard.

The Umflozi Game drive was most enjoyable. To experience nature was breath taking no doubt!

"My wife and I booked in at the Elephant Lake Hotel for two nights. I booked the accommodation online just by looking at the pictures. As is common knowledge, pictures can be deceiving but I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the fantastic accommodation.

The room that we stayed in was excellent with exceptional views of the lake and the bedding was of good quality. The room was spacious and well equipped with a desk, TV and tea/coffee making facilities. The staff were really kind, polite and very accommodating.

We are abit fussy with our meals as we do not eat pork and beef and the Chef, Alan Naidoo, went out of his way to prepare our meals and for this we are very grateful.

What was even more surprising was that the hippos from the lake roam the grounds from about 8pm in the evening. This was really amazing as we saw the hippos close up. We were also blessed by a cow and its baby. They actually drink water from the hotel pool! This was the most exciting event of our stay at the Elephant Lake Hotel.

Thank you to everyone who made our stay at the hotel a pleasant experience. I would definitely go back and stay at this hotel and encourage others to stay there and experience this for themselves.

"Sunset Views"

"Good location and the views from the deck are wonderful. Staff and service is good. Walkable to the shops and other interests in town.

Even though you cannot walk the water here, you would not want to as the crocs are closeby, they will let you know where you can watch the hippos and crocs..."

Most occasions it was from the bar/restaurant area. On occasions there were noise from people in the hallways late at night.

Unfortunately not all guests are always considerate. The building work and noise resulting from that did not bother us much. "

"This holiday reservation was a perfect setting for an end to our vacation.
We had over-sea's visitors, who had shared a 3 weeks holiday with us.
From the initial first 2 days where we stayed at home in Johannesburg, we then had 4 days Zambia (Vic. Falls) 5 days Kruger park. Then the final days at your Elephant Lake Hotel, they then travelled on to Dubai, we returned home. The position of the Hotel was perfect. St. Lucia we found to be an excellent venue for beach / fishing / game viewing, and the boat trip was a wonder.
I had previously been to St. Lucia with my son at another venue, but having stayed at your hotel, I would certainly recommend to anyone both for food / location."
