I am glad the right choice was made in such a small town and will go back again. A wonderful homely atmosphere from cosy fires to ducks and dogs and cats. Truly enjoyable. Thanks for Safari's nice touch too in facilitating an effortless booking experience."

"Very very nice with super friendly people and animals (pets). Among all the beautiful treasures in and around the place there should be at least a shelf in the shower for soap and shampoo and some more hooks for towels etc. - otherwise no complaints. "After a long and warm travel from Cape Town, and 100 km detour on the first leg of a two-day journey to Kathu, we reached Williston.

Who would have thought that a 'one-horse town' could have a mall? Die Ark B&B and mall are uniquely different. An oasis and refreshing after a long journey and surely highly recommended for a stopover.

The owners have created a beautiful rustic and authentic haven where locals can meet and relax after a long day or have a great meal, while children can play and have fun in the mini play area or the pool.

Someone even offered to babysit our little 17 month baby girl while we relaxed, had a braai and enjoyed friendly local and visitor company. We had a lovely night's stay and can highly recommend it!"

"Quirky "

(South Africa) John

"We loved it but it is not for everyone. The room décor is old hubcaps and vinyl records fixed to the walls."

"Whilst we arrived on a night off for the owner there was a great alternative meal option on offer in the village. Accommodation was quirky, comfy and homey and in total keeping with the character of the place. The magic came alive the next morning with the opening of the restaurant and shop. Wonderful breakfast enjoyed, set by the fireside. Cheerful, confident staff bustled about, happy pets everywhere and so much to see and explore, something for everyone. Local handcrafts filled the shop and we gained so much info on the local architecture and history whilst filling our basket. Worth more than just a one night stop over...Oh!! and the owners so deserved their night off after the work on the Winterfees the previous weekend and all the passion they have for the town.
We will be back!!"

We really enjoyed it. They were busy making a movie and still had time for us. Our visit was very nice. We had the most wonderful breakfast with an interesting cup of coffee . Food was very nice. Although they were very busy getting ready for the peak season they made us feel welcome. greetings"

"When I saw the name, Die Ark, the first time on Rooms for Africa, I just knew I wanted to get accommodation there. I was so glad when they could accommodate us. My husband, my dad, aged 82 years and I was on our way to Riversdale for my uncle's 90th birthday. We left Kempton Park late the afternoon of the 2nd of January, after having problems with our motor vehicle. Arriving in the quiet early morning of 02:10 in Williston's gravel streets, I was suddenly wide awake. What a surprise. We had a hearty welcome by Elmarie. My Dad was safe in his room, Lewiesa se matrasse. The furniture reminded him of times when he was a child. In our luxury room was an old green radio. I had to take a photo. My husband grew up with the same, just a red one. I can go on like this. There are so many things to see. I will tell everybody go and have a look. Everything is beyond description. It’s the drive worth. Things that remind old and young of something they had seen or experienced sometime in their life. It’s not the same what you have in your mind of the "ark" you know of Noah in the Bible, it’s so different.
While we had breakfast that can get even 6 stars, two young teenage girls of the town was having a cooling down in Die Ark's "SWIMMING POOL".A round cement pool, the size of an average Jacuzzi today, they had so much fun. This gets me thinking what an experience this will be for city children.
I took photos of so many things. Things you see there that you cannot imagine in your wildest dreams. I will definitely visit The Ark again and for more than one night, a week can do. Thank you so much again, the owners of Die Ark for your warm welcome and the early morning coffee. My dad said that of all the places we stayed at on our week holiday, he will remember this place the best.
