Our EarthStone Cottages are BIG… with double bedrooms, pampering bathrooms and large open plan living areas with open fires, family sized fridges & big comfy couches. The bedrooms have king or queen size beds with cuddly duvets & twin beds. The bathrooms have glass fronted showers and big bathtubs for soaks in lots of steamy hot water — we are blessed with a good water supply. Bedrooms and bathrooms have wall heaters and there are heated blankets on all the beds.

At Amohela there are BIG spaces between cottages for maximum privacy and seclusion.

SkyWind Cottages, where the wind and the sky meet in a 360 degree sweep across the beautiful Eastern Highlands landscape. There are two SkyWind self catering cottages, Quail Cottage and Francolin Cottage, built from sandstone blocks, barn style with high beamed ceiling, tin roof, cement painted floors. The open plan spaciousness, beautiful pampering baths and enclosed sandstone shower and toilet, a fully equipped kitchen, a weber braai on the patio-with-a-view, this all comes together to define these awesome dwelling places for just two in quietness, space and luxury. There is a combustion wood burning fire, heated blankets for chilly Highland winters, King Size beds with big cosy duvets.

There is safe parking behind all the cottages, serviced daily, free WiFi at the reception area.

The Retreat offers walks, hikes, climbs into the mountain, swimming, birding, small mammal viewing, cycling, scenic beauty, great day drives. Close by the Retreat: Clocolan Golf Course with plains game wandering and a nice restaurant and pub, quaint villages, galleries and eateries, proximity to the Mountain Kingdom of Lesotho and Afriski Ski Resort, steam train rides, crop festivals, San rock art, and in season those yummy cherries and cherry farm visits.

In-room facilities include: fridge, bathroom, (en suite), bed linen supplied, fan, hairdryer, iron, veranda, area information booklet, bathroom towels supplied, complimentary toiletries, fireplace, kitchen (fully equipped), safe, tea and coffee making facilities.

Establishment facilities include: child friendly (EarthStone cottages), guest lounge with satellite TV, laundry services, housekeeping (daily), free Wi-Fi, parking off street, breakfast prior booking and no smoking.

The retreat is some three and a half hours from Johannesburg, one and a half hours from Bloemfontein.
