Reviews of Old Halliwell Country Inn

"Old Halliwell"

(South Africa) Amanda Penfold

"Beautiful, peaceful surroundings. Such 'old world' charm. Hospitality was fantastic. A home away from home."

"Good"

(South Africa) Adele Hillary

"Old building quaint, grounds stunning, staff friendly......our room 'tired', needs fireplace like we saw most other rooms offer! Don't go for a dinner if you're rushed, here you need to 'chill', relax and enjoy company at your table!"

"We spent one evening at Old Halliwell for a wedding in the area.

The staff were friendly and accommodating.

Our room was spacious but a bit tired in its furnishings: the white sueded couches and carpets peppered with burn marks and coal smudges from the fireplace and the bathroom in need of some re-modelling.

Breakfast also left much to be desired: with a very limited cold buffet (curdled-looking yoghurt and some muesli) and a very greasy fry-up. One doesn't have to have a huge selection of food but some fresh fruit and some pastries would go down well.

The room served its purpose of a comfortable bed and the convenience of close proximity to the wedding but I don't see us going returning.

It is such a pity as the locations, the layout of the rooms and beautiful premises hold great potential. "

"So awesome - need to go again & stay longer"

(South Africa) Sheena Gates

"The views, the service and the atmosphere of this Inn was so comforting. Wish we'd stayed longer!"

"Old and tired "

(South Africa) Tracy Mann

"The accomodation was comfortable, however the room was very tired and old looking. Breakfast was also very average. No pastries or extras."

"Midweek visit"

(South Africa) Donna

"We had a lovely 2 night stay at the old Halliwell. The view from our room was magnificent . The breakfast was fit for a king and yummy butternut skin snacks in the bar. A lovely setting and we look forward to returning when next in the Midlands."
