"Despite the wet weather we had a lovely weekend indoors. The lounge is so big and comfortable and the fireplace is excellent. We did manage a walk on the Saturday afternoon and enjoyed crossing the bridges over the Mooi Mooi River, watching the calves and their moms and walking through the Poplar Forest.
The rooms are clean and the kitchen has everything one needs including coffee, teas and milk provided. This was our second visit and we're sure to be back as it is so convenient and value for money for our family who travel from Toti, Ballito and Dalton to be together.
V ensures that the cottage is clean and well serviced. Thank you. "

"Place is exceptional value for money. Large farm house off the beaten track. Lovely lady cleaned in the morning and evening which was a real treat not having to wash dishes. Everything really was great. "

"We were pleasantly surprised. Although we had no contact with the owner, Vita-Lina looked after us very well. Really enjoyed our stay and would love to go back should we travel in that vicinity again."

"We have been booking through SafariNow and staying in many different self-catering accommodation places throughout South Africa for the past ten years, and in some amazing places. That being said, Poplar Grove is the best place, all-round.

The 20+ km drive off the N3, travelling through the gorgeous scenery of the Midlands Meander is well worth it. For sure, though, this is one time when the destination is as worthy as the journey! Arriving at the gloriously-situated Poplar Grove Farm House, we were thrilled to discover a huge, rambling home all to ourselves. The home is so beautifully appointed in every aspect. What a fantastic kitchen! What gloriously luxurious modernized bathrooms! What a comfortable living room area and interesting library! What awe-inspiring peace at night with the starry skies to marvel at! I don't normally wax quite so eloquent, but it really was the highlight stay of our 10-day visit to South Africa this time around. "

"We really enjoyed our stay at Poplar Grove. The house is very spacious and equipped with all the amenities you could possibly need and it's serviced daily. The kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms are a particular highlight. It's located on a scenic farm off the beaten track and there was plenty of space for our toddler to roam in complete safety. There are also beautiful hiking trails that start from the house so it's a perfect place to relax and unwind. The only thing that you need to keep in mind is that there is absolutely no cell reception at the house (the closest point is 3km away) which may be a pro or con depending on the purpose of your stay."

A place where you can recharge and connect with nature!"

"The only disappointment about our stay is that we only stayed for one night! The accommodation was one of the best I have seen in a long time. It was pouring with rain when we arrived, the staffed made us a wonderful fire and we sat in front of a roaring fire, looking at the majestic view with rain coming down, snuggling up with a book. Poplar Grove is highly recommended and great value for money Ð I will definitely be back."

"Poplar Grove lived up to our expectations and we felt spoilt with bedding of good quality, cleaning service, heating and wood provided for inside fires and braai. Although some of the furniture is very old, it is comfortable and adds to a relaxed atmosphere. The kitchen facilitates the preparation of any kind of meal with ample crockery, cutlery and utensils. This is the ideal place to stay for visits to the Midlands Meander and lower parts of the Drakensberg. Poplar Grove will definitely see us again."
