"We really enjoyed our stay there - only wish it could have been longer . Jackie makes everyone feel at home with her interaction with all the guests, especially while breakfast is been served- and what a breakfast !- I only needed to eat again in the evening - all the staff are friendly. The rooms are immaculate and the view of the bay- to die for- I have it now as my desk top- to remind me that there is a better place than working in Isando- miles and miles away from the sea.I really recommend it."

"We had the most wonderful time at Berg and Zee guesthouse. The rooms were sparkly clean and very comfortable. Magnificent view over the ocean and the mountains, true to their name. They are within close walking distance to the beach and some fabulous restaurants. Their staff is very friendly and helpful and I think the hands on friendly approach of the owner contributes to their success. The breakfast was scrumptious and they had some fabulous fresh , hot croissants right from the oven! I liked the fact that I saw some of the things in the guesthouse in a local shop, which means they buy and support locally. We had a wonderful time and will surely return! Good value for money."

Our family room was beautiful and very clean with all the facilities we needed for a young family ie a fridge, kettle and access to a microwave. There was also an honesty bar and homemade dishes in the freezer which we took advantage of. On the first night we had homemade lasagne and a bottle of red wine on the balcony while the kids had an early night !!!!"

"Jackie and Glen were wonderful hosts and nothing seemed too much trouble for them. The rooms were well equipped and comfortable and also cool which was a big plus in the heatwave Cape Town was experiencing.

I would definitely recommend Berg en Zee to anyone travelling to the Cape."

"After a week of touring, the Berg en Zee was our last one night stopover before a week in Cape Town, and was ideally situated for us at the end of our Hermanus-Gordons Bay - wonderful scenic drive.

The guesthouse was professionally organised, very friendly, with well appointed rooms and an excellent breakfast. All the guest rooms appeared to have a parking bay (important for us) and "magnificent" sea views. Good restaurants were located within an easy 5 min walk which saved taking the car (allowing you to take a drink with your meal if you wished).

Then while driving along the sea front, on the morning after our stay, it was obvious to us that Berg en Zee could have been our base for a much longer and enjoyable stay in Gordons Bay.

"Berg en Zee Guesthouse was a fabulous choice for myself and my family to stay for a period of 12 nights. Jackie the proprietor made us feel welcome and offered us a relaxing enjoyable stay, in a very comfortable guest house offering freedom of movement and most important a substantial breakfast for my husband and son.

Set in beautiful Gordons Bay this was a perfect choice, easy access to the wine lands and Cape Town. I would recommend this Guest House to any one travelling in the Western Cape. I will most certainly stay here again on my next visit. Thanks Jackie we all enjoyed our visit.

Everything is clean and tastefully decorated, the breakfast in the morning was absolutely scrumptious. Love the honesty bar, although we never really made use of it, the home made frozen lasagne was fantastic and being out all day we didn’t feel like going out to dinner so that was fantastic. Would come back here in a heartbeat!"
