Plenty to do in the area with superb restaurants nearby - particularly recommend the Harbour House in Kalks Bay (about 10 kms).

Whilst they don't get the SA Tourist Board's 5 star rating - I would guess because of a lack of air con in the rooms - but we felt that this was a sacrifice worth making to stay in such an interesting and well-designed environment.

They also served the best breakfast - not so much in content (which was excellent everywhere) but, again, in terms of the stylish presentation.

Forget the Tourist Board - this got our 5 star rating!"

Very happy with the quality of service that was delivered by Whale View Manor staff. The bathrooms and kitchen were cleaned and beds were made everyday. We tried their breakfast service a couple of times and were delighted by the level of service. The staff actually provided us simple and customized breakfast which our kids loved.

The cottage (Simonstown) is located in a safe area and great option for families. The views of False Bay from the cottage are awesome and healing. The beach is within a 5 minute walking distance

Overall, I would highly recommend both the Whale View Manor Guesthouse and the self-catering options."
