"This is a lovely place for a holiday to get to know Cape Town and the area. We stayed for 2 weeks at this apartment and for us it was the perfect starting point for our excursions to the city of Cape Town, Gaansbai and Stellenbosch. The Cape Peninsula itself is also beautiful and has much to offer (penguins, an ostrich farm, baboons, stunning beaches and sunsets and of course Cape Point). Simon's Town is quiet, beautiful and safe, which is why we chose to stay there and not in Cape Town proper. Simon's Town has the feel of an English seaside town, complete with fish and chips :-)

The garden and the private deck with the sea view are beautiful and perfect for breakfast or lunch.

The apartment itself is tastefully furnished and decorated, the bathroom is big and modern, and the kitchenette had all we needed for a 2-week-vacation (fridge, hot plate, water kettle, toaster, microwave). The hosts were very friendly and helpful and even sent me my camera I had forgotten in the room. In all, a very good experience!"

"Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Whale View House. Received response from the host less than 5 minutes of my booking enquiry. We only stayed for one night but advised Marieke that we were locals and as a married couple needed a mini-breakaway from an energetic toddler for one night only. She was most welcoming and fully understood. This was a definite positive response considering that most establishments often require a 2 day minimum stay. We enjoyed the drive from the northern suburbs and literally felt like tourists in our own city. The flat was absolutely gorgeous - beautifully and stylishly decorated with plenty of personal touches which made us feel very welcome. Attention to detail and extremely functional, we never had to request anything. From corkscrew to candles, they made sure we had everything. We especially appreciated the fact that we were granted complete privacy. Too often, owners/hosts feel they need to check up on their guests which sometimes can be a bit of a hassle even though their intentions might be good. But, as we made it clear we basically just came to unwind and relax, they completely respected that. It also gave us a sense of trust and assurance. The view is absolutely and utterly breath-taking, the lawn beautiful and lush green. An added bonus was that we felt comfortable enough to leave the curtains undrawn to enjoy this picturesque view throughout. Unfortunately, the weather did not permit us to enjoy the sparkling blue pool but it definitely contributed to the tranquil surroundings. Although the flat is located next to a family room, we were totally undisturbed and actually enjoyed hearing the movement of our host family but yet not seeing them. This would be perfect for anyone who might be reluctant to stay on their own because of security concerns. We left there well-rested and as if we had a very long holiday.
We will definitely be returning to this lovely homestead. It is everything a guest house should be. Thank you to Dom and Marieke. They were the perfect hosts.
