"The Cape Dutch Quarter is very quaint, located on the charming historical Church Street of Tulbagh. My wife and I stayed in the Wagon Shed annex. Over the days that we were there it was incredibly hot, so much as there was an electric fan in the annex it really was not enough to provide a comfortable night’s sleep. That coupled with the problem of mosquitos. Perhaps an investment in an a/c which is available in the main house would be nice. A recent addition to the complex is a swimming pool which was fantastic to use after a hot day of sightseeing and wine drinking!"

"Stepping into the old Dutch House - we were spell bound by the simple beauty and elegance of the place. The people running the establishment were friendly and caring. The Room (the family suite) was clean, beds crisp white cotton sheets and delightful plethora of cushions. Ensuring us a comfy sleep and delightful large bath with plenty of lovely hot water - deep hot bath for sore backs and bodies. The shower was an open one - which was a bit messy - but we opted for the bath - it was delicious!
The garden and out door area also good - tables a bit dirty - but the wonderful deep pool in Cape Dutch style added to the ambiance-making the pluses out do the minuses. We immediately set about a lovely braai and kitchen was amply able to supply the cutlery and crockery. The bed was most comfortable and slept like a baby. The breakfasts were superb and gave guests a chance to interact around a large yellow wood table-resplendent with beautiful china, silver and lace. We were made to feel very special and nothing was too much. Thank you Jason and ladies-may your beautiful places grow from strength to strength. "One step at a time' Definitely Cape Dutch Quarter is a place I would recommend. Only important thing to start with is to suggest on the web site that people go FIRST to the office-to get keys-which is in the main street. NOT first to Church street. But other than that it was perfect."

"Turning back the clock in Tulbagh."

(South Africa) Mr Wilmshurst

"We were delighted with our short break in Tulbagh. Our host, Jayson, provided us with a comprehensive range of sights to see and things to do. We were not disappointed. Our accommodation, the Wagonshed, was comfortable and homely. Breakfast was a treat and enhanced by the company of other guests."

"Relaxing"

(South Africa) anonymous

"My wife and I stayed in the Wagonshed with our 2 month old son and were able to kick back and relax without bothering any of the other guests or even knowing about them either. The accomodation fitted in perfectly with old town charm and was as neat as a pin."

"High standard with a personal touch"

(Germany) Mr Koch

"Wagon Shed"

(United Kingdom) Mr Puffer

"A charming place in a lovely setting in Tulbagh's oldest street & very convenient for the local restaurants & wineries. "
