All the guests for the night ate at one long table, family style. It was a wonderful opportunity to meet new people. The rock art tour was especially fantastic, and JP showed his love of his farm and it's history. I will most definitely be visiting again!"

"My Dad, sister and I spent a night at Ganora Guestfarm, en route to Laingsburg. We stayed in Khoisan Cottage which was absolutely lovely. The cottage was beautifully decorated and met all our requirements. We were really thankful for heaters in the rooms and electric blankets on the beds as it was freezing cold the night we were there! The owners, Hester and JP, were very friendly and excellent hosts. We had a really nice home cooked meal of karoo lamb chops and vegetables and spent a lovely evening chatting to other guests at the farm over dinner. All in all - we loved our stay at Ganora and only wished we had been able to still another night or two to explore the farm. "

"We had an absolutely wonderful time. Our room was absolute perfection, the meals were amazing and I have food allergies and they were especially careful with my special food requests. We loved the walks we went on around the farm, the bush paintings walk and the medicine walk, with a special young man by the name of Henry, he so very knowledgeable and so interesting to listen too. We had an all together spectacular stay at Ganora Guest farm and it was the highlight of our trip. Thank you for a fantastic stay."

"From the moment of our warm greeting by owner Hester, we knew we were going to be comfortable. The room was clean, well thought out, and very pleasant. There was an overhead fan which was well needed as we were quite hot. The extra dinner was delicious and well presented. The Pre dinner talk by J P on his hobby - FOSSILS was terrific. Breakfast was served overlooking the well manicured garden. "

"Typical and charming farm in the Karoo"

"A remote and beautiful farm to spend some relaxing time in the Karoo as a couple or as a family. Charming, friendly and helpful people. Good food. Special thanks for Esther's kindness."

"If you love the wide open spaces of the Karoo, if you are challenged by the paleontological relics which this place offers up, if you are moved by the paintings done by the first people of this land, if you are inspired by local art, if you are warmed by people who are determined to improve their community through encouraging sustainable and informed tourism, then Ganora is the place for you.

Hike the hills, (accompanied by meerkats which are being rehabitated!), visit Bushmen paintings and have a community guide explain the meanings, cycle for miles, listen to farmer Hester talk about the Boer War, be entranced by the Owl House, learn about fossils on the farm at the Fossil Centre, and most of all, experience the wonderful warmth and hospitality that is Ganora.

"Ganora is a unique Karoo Guest Farm with the attractions of space, solitude and beautiful surroundings. The hosts are very friendly and knowledgeable about the area and its history, including the local Bushman paintings and the fossil deposits found nearby.

I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone interested in this un-spoilt corner of South Africa. I have not given it 5 stars because the accommodation (while perfectly comfortable) is not hi-tech, in the sense that they do not provide all the latest technological marvels like Internet access, satellite TV, etc. If that's what you are after, perhaps you should stay in the city, but I found it exceptionally restful and the hosts really went out of their way to welcome us and treated us with great courtesy and friendliness."

"Ganora is Great"

"At Ganora Guest Cottage, one can expect absolute peace and tranquility, in a truly beautiful setting. Hosts are friendly and helpful, keen to help make your experience a memorable one, yet respecting your privacy if that is what is desired. The fossil museum is impressive and being able to view other fossils still in their natural state where they were found on the farm is certainly memorable in itself.

I would highly recommend Ganora Guest Farm to anyone wishing to escape the rat race, explore the magical Nieu Bethesda Valley or simply to stay overnight enroute between Cape Town and Johannesburg."

"An eye opener"

(South Africa) Mr Greyling

"What a pleasure to meet and enjoy the owners. There hospitality was refreshing after a long drive. The meerkat family was quite interesting. The rooms are very sufficient and the running water stream next to is great. We should have stayed for longer."
