We experienced a relaxing, value-for-money stay at this nature reserve. Although we didn't see you we got the impression that you did a lot behind the scenes to make us feel at home. We enjoyed it and will definitely visit again. "

Swimming pool and rock pools were welcome after long hikes and bike rides in the blazing sun.

We felt like we had the whole place to ourselves and overall it was a welcome break from JHB and the other jam-packed holiday resorts.

"The reserve is near Warmbaths We were greeted by staff althought it was close to 10:00 pm, still with a friendly smile at that hour in full uniform. The lights was switch on so that we could find our way. We were left alone and could do what we wanted. We were let loose in a 3 000 hectare Nature reserve with Kudu, Blue wild beast, Zebra, duiker roaming freely and you could walk to them within about 100m. We swam in the rock pool, where we find fish, crabs, we have taken pictures of locust, grasshoppers, dung beetles the size of an old R1 coin and lizards of diffrent sizes. We walked in mountains and in some areas we climb 70 m in height for every 100m. We watch the sun rise and watch the stars at night. The road was a bit scary for my bakkie but we managed. We walked through valleys and came down cliffs through kloof and one could imagine what the Voortrekkers went through to get here. At night it was quite with Night jars and animals snorting. And I must say there are one way in and one way out. So what you have was what you had. Our power went out during a severe thunder storm on Saturday afternoon/evening and we had dinner by candle light. It was romantic. The house we had had place for 5 people. 3 single beds in one room with private bathroom with shower and loo, and the other with one double bed with private bathroom with shower and loo Dining room and kitchen and 2 Verandahs one for looking towards the mountains and game the other at the back with the braai area and a mountain/koppie behind the house. Everything was clean and in its place, directions to the reserve was correct and was easy to find even at night. Wouter and his team have done wonders with this secluded and restful spot. This is not the place if you were looking for thrills and noise, this is a place to enjoy nature and to get some quite time with your family. You also get some good excercise.

The game that is in the area is great and tame enough for you to get real close which is excellent for the kids.
The house is equipped with basically everything that you need to get away for a couple of peaceful days in the bush.
The only downfall is the current problem with limited cell phone coverage, but you can find spots in close proximity.
If and when we decide to have a family reunion again we will come back.
