"This is a special place. You have to drive for a wile but....Waterkloof is a special and beautifull place. Hannes is an outstanding host and we were welcome to come to see the ostrich farm. The food was like it's supose to be on a farm; real and fresh! "

"Good accommodation and food. But best part of the stay was the tour of the farm, with Hannes. Also must mention ChristineÕs cat Picasso, which the kids loved."

"I just wanted a quiet place, far from the madding crowd, in which to break the journey en route from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth, and discovered Waterkloof via an internet search. I'm so glad it came up! It’s a beautiful place, with clean, comfortable rooms.

Owner Christine Uys gave us a very warm welcome when we arrived, and husband Hannes took us with him on his evening trip to fetch the eggs laid by his ostriches that day - he's an interesting and most informative guide.

It's quite a trek to the nearest town, so we took advantage of Christine's offer to provide dinner, and were treated to a veritable feast of meat from the farm - roast lamb, ostrich bobotie, and all the trimmings. The breakfast (the scrambled eggs were ostrich, naturally!) was excellent, and set us up nicely for the rest of the day. If it's night-life you're after, give this place a miss - but if you want to relax and unwind in peaceful surroundings, it's the place for you. I would definitely recommend it. "
