"Pond House was a revelation as the pictures on the website do not do it justice. The property sleeps 8. Downstairs there is a spacious attractive open plan kitchen/living/dining which opens out onto a shaded patio extending all the way around , with comfy seating plus a large picnic table . There are two double bedrooms one with a double and one with two single beds either side of the bathroom . There is ample wardrobe and storage space. Upstairs is gorgeous! A lovely open area with wooden floors a double bed and lots of seating and a wonderful main bedroom with walk in wardrobe and ensuite bathroom with both bath and separate shower. Both small rooms have skylights which make the rooms feel light and roomy Both upstairs rooms have access to a balcony area which overlooks the lovely pond with plenty of birdlife and shady trees. There is dstv available at a small extra cost. There is a communal pool tennis and squash courts very close to the house and complex has 24 hr security. The River club is a few mis drive from the beaches and 7 or 8 mins from the centre of Plett but there a couple of restaurant/cafes plus shops within walking distance. I think that this is the nicest rental 'house' I have ever had and we loved Plett! My only criticism is there is no wifi available. The nearest place to access it is a couple of mins away at the lovely Surf Cafe. Overall this is a fantastic place to stay! Just loved it."

"A Fine Pair is a wonderful and safe place to stay when visiting Plettenberg Bay. For the price it cant be beaten, but also be aware that for the price you are not going to have sea views and ready Beach access. However, for most visitors to Plettenberg Bay, getting to the beach requires some form of transport, so the latter point is not an onerous problem. The apartment is on the ground floor in a secure complex that has a pool, albeit small. The rooms are large , each having its own bathroom, and the extended kitchen/Lounge is well planned and appointed, having all the kit you would need for a stay of any length. The Flat is well situated for access to the beaches, Town, the shopping mall and to the road network if you want to explore further afield. As a base it proved perfect for our uses, the only downfall being that with only 2 double beds it may not suit a family with a couple of kids."

This unit can easily be upgraded to a 4/5 star status by supplying two things - DSTV and cleaning services. I did not pick up on the fact that I had to bring by own smart card (and I doubt it if a PVR smart card would work on the normal DSTV decoder) and the fact that we had to do housekeeping also whilst on holiday, can easily be included (even as an optional service) to the agreement.
