"A friend and I, both teachers and mommies, wanted a weekend away with our families. Hogsback being as magical as it is was the perfect place and close enough for us from East London.
Kings Lodge was the only place of about 4 different accommodation places that assisted us within 24 hours of enquiring via rooms for africa and was able to accommodate our own family needs. (We were 2 families with our own needs and Kings Lodge was able to accommodate us.) My family and I stayed in the Hotel and the other family stayed in a self catering double room. We both took our parents with, there was an age area from 4 years to 67 years and we were ALL happy in the same place!! That to me alone says a lot as it is difficult to accommodate so many different age groups and family types.
There was a jungle gym and pool to keep the kiddies entertained between trail and waterfall hikes. There was a simple and cozy bar that reminded me so much of my days in the United Kingdom.
Supper was ordered from the pub menu so no need to cook and prices were good.
Breakfast was had in the dinning hall and the chef was accommodating and hands on in the dinning hall at all times.

I have been to hogsback 6 times in the last 8 years. I have stayed at various places in Hogsback but will honestly say i will make Kings lodge my first place to enquire for accommodation in future.
