The surrounds are really so beautiful and the no cellphone reception helps a lot to unwind a bit. Everything in the cottage is so comfortable and everything you might need is there.

"This is the best way to describe this amazing destination. The views are breath-taking! My husband and I wanted to break away from the bustling city to find some peace and tranquillity and Harmonie exceeded our expectations by far. The cottage itself was well equipped and catered to our every need. The indoor braai/ fireplace was an unexpected delight and right up my husband’s Alley. He delivered a great feast of pot roast with all the trimmings, while I laid on the couch, tucked in with a book and a glass of wine. The bedroom was cosy and warm with more than enough blankets and pillows. The Victorian bath was the cherry on top for me as I soaked up in this oversized tub. We utilized the outside braai for our last evening with plenty of firewood, which we purchased from our hosts at 30 rand for a huge bag. We burnt up three bags. The farm area is huge and we took a two hour hike amongst the olive trees and vines, stopping to take pictures along the way. I am an amateur photographer and the views totally blew my mind. I was in photography heaven. The peace and quiet we have experienced here, no noise but the sounds of Mother Nature and the open spaces was priceless! We felt rejuvenated after our four night stay and will recommend this place very highly. Our hosts were welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. There is also a heater I must mention, even though we only discovered it on the third night. We ventured into the town of Montagu and discovered breath-taking thatched roof buildings and historical properties which off course I photographed. We went to the market on Saturday morning and found and array of local crafts and I even had a neck massage. We also attended the local community church on Sunday and was heartily welcomed. Montagu has everything you need so you don’t have to pack in so much stuff. The biltong at the local butcher was lip-smacking good and very reasonably priced. This is truly a beautiful, scenic place and we will certainly visit again soon. Thank you to our very gracious hosts for being so attentive. Lastly I must add, you have to get some olives as well as olive oil. Great quality and great tasting! Go check this place out for yourselves."

Entering the cottage we were even more impressed. Everything was spotless and beautiful and we could not believe our luck at finding this little gem.

It is lovingly decorated and the attention to detail is most appreciated. It can only be described as a 'home away from home'.

We enjoyed every minute of our stay in this delightful and peaceful place. Walks were also enjoyed around the farm knowing we were quite safe. Birding - 40 species were notched up in a space of two hours which was tremendous.

We also received a dish containing "Harmony" preserved Olives - absolutely the most delicious Olives we had ever tasted. When the time came to leave, we all felt very sad, as we would loved to have spent longer in "Harmony".
