The unit is spacious and has everything one needs, even a fan if the air-conditioning isn't working. The lodge has a good setting as it is right on the river bank with scenic views of the river and very close to the dam wall and the town of Gariep if you want to pop past there before joining the N1 again. We had a hearty breakfast the next day and I found the accommodation rates reasonable. Thank you for the drinking water in the fridge, I did get a bit of a fright when I saw the orange water coming out of the tap."

"We stayed on our trip to Port Elizabeth, but decided to make it 2 nights and put our boat on the dam. Our accommodation was comfortable and clean. The unit had a super braai and deck. We felt safe and welcome. We will definitely stay again."
