A massive room, fireplace, underfloor heating and private patio are just some of the features that were on offer. (Not to mention the delicious crunchies and marshmallows alongside the fireplace!).
The breakfasts are a great way to start the day and you couldn't ask for a bigger variety! Dinner is a three course meal, served in a romantic dining room. The cuisine is fantastic (try the crepes if you ever visit Peebles, they're served with vanilla ice cream, nuts and warm chocolate sauce - AMAZING!).

The turn down service and surprise on your pillow is a lovely way to end off the day!

We were greated immediately as soon we drove into the parking lot. Our bags were whisked away to a private suite that was upgraded at no extra charge. Complimentary chilled champagne, chocolates & a breathtaking view from our veranda awaited us.

We sipped champagne as we relaxed and overlooked the pristine grounds with a lovely pond, pool, garden and rose filled courtyard fountains. After a quiet stroll, we were invited to the classy and cozy bar for a sampling of South African libations.

While we were engaged in good drink and interesting conversation with the hotel proprietors, we had no idea that our room was being prepared for a private, sumptuous dinner for two that we will never forget! Our suite was transformed into a romantic paradise with rose petals and candles placed everywhere, fresh flowers, and a glowing fire in the fireplace. A personal waitoring staff served us an incredible meal. It was the perfect evening complete with scented bath oil, an excellent mattress and fine, warm, bed linens.

The complimentary breakfast the following morning was perfectly cooked and nicely served.

Peebles Country Retreat truly embodies the essence of great hospitality, service, and comfort.

My wife and I got married 4 months ago and we have not even seen daytime since then. This break was perfect and Peebles was the cherry on top. The service that we got from the youngs staff was excellent and they made us feel so relaxed. The rooms were amazing and thanks to L.J (one of the staff members) I know now how to make a fire like a true Vootrekker! Dinner was incredible and the waiters were so on point but yet it felt like they weren't even there. A very special weekend which has been imprinted in our memories and in our hearts.......and I was only their for one night, how awesome is that!!!"

The room was awesome and had every luxury that we could have asked for. The food was really delicious. One area where Peebles could improve would be the training of the waitrons - they were not always knowledgeable on some of the basics e.g. the house wines.

All in all we had a wonderful time and would definitely stay at Peebles again and recommend it to friends."
