Nice touches like a plaster, emery board and extra soap in a little plastic bag on the basin. The bed was so comfortable and it was so lovely and dark, thanks to curtains and blinds, in the bedroom, that we slept so well.
The walks are excellently demarcated and sign posted, and the benches along the way welcome for old legs. The river walk was especially pretty.
The staff we did come into contact with were friendly and professional and it was good to see they had proper name badges. First time I've seen that in a lodge like this, even for the guy who cleans your braai and empties your dustbins, (he grinned with pleasure when we called him by name) which are separate, 3 of them for recycling purposes.
All in all, we had a wonderful break in a 5 star environment. Will be back. Fiona and John Middleton

Stone Hill has 6 very well equipped and comfortable cottages all with their own gardens should you wish to take your four-legged children. It's quiet and peaceful and the walks of 5kms or less are not too strenuous for the 'oldies'. Our 3 dogs had a wonderful time running free although probably irritated at having to wait for us to catch up! A great time was had by all and we will definately go back for more."

What I wanted was a place close to home but away from the rat race. We arrived at Stone Hill and were pleasantly surprised at the warm welcome we received and felt at home immediately. We stayed in "The Cabbage Tree" a nice big spacious cottage with everything we needed. Sitting on the patio overlooking the valley was breathtaking, listening to the sound of nature and meeting the Sheffield ponies that came begging for apples every morning and evening. To me personally I spend time with my Lord and Saviour and we had wonderful encounters. I would definitely recommend this place to all my family and friends!
