I truly enjoyed my stay with them and would have loved to spend 2 weeks or more in their comfortable establishment. They went out of their way in many ways to make our stay enjoyable. One is not tied up only in a room, you can sit outside and enjoy the beautiful view of the ocean, have a braai outside overlooking the ocean or lay in bed and see the moon over the ocean. It is a quiet and peaceful area, we were even able to go for a stroll as a family in the wee hours of the morning, which was around 4am. The local Treasure beach was not far (be prepared to have a little exercise) and the other main beaches Anstey and Brighton are within driving distance and there were local malls one could go to for the necessities. Durban beach is about 25 minutes away and the main highway to the South Coast is also not that far. Errol and his wife Leonora being very friendly, really made us feel at home, and would recommend it to anyone to stay there. I have already recommended De Oude Meester to my family and friends."

"We stayed at De Oude Meester during the 2010 World Cup. Our experience was FABULOUS!! Upon arriving, there was one word we all had in mind...BEAUTIFUL. The view from our rooms was amazing. The accommodation overlooked the beautiful Indian Ocean, and if you woke early enough you would see the dolphins passing by.

We were able to book four rooms for the nine of us. The host family made us feel at home not only in Durban, but in South Africa. The accommodation was clean, modern, fully equipped, and far beyond our expectations.

Their hospitality was first class. The staff was welcoming and helpful. We love you Princess. The beach was a ten minute walk, the city was about twenty minutes away by car, and there were several places to go shop for personal items. We would highly recommend for anyone to stay here.

The place is really well laid out inside with two large double beds in one room and a good bathroom with great shower. It's all clean and organised really well with some cooking utensils and electric plates, microwave, kettle etc. It's secure as well. It is about 15 mins drive from the centre of Durban and easy to get to via the motorway.

It is in a quiet suburb called Bluff and very near the beach which you can see from the property. You can walk to the beach in 5 mins.

The owners were helpful in giving directions, offering us lifts into the centre and made us really welcome.

It's not expensive to stay here and highly recommended. Thanks for everything Errol and family!"
