"We had a great time. Although we had to ask for the complimentary champagne which was not set in our room on our arrival. The honeymoon bed frame was not covered in lace as the pictures on their website/pamplets. However anything else was cool."

"We had an excellent experience during our stay. 1stly we checked in way to early but the vibrant staff and especially Aneska had no problems and accommodated us. We had 2 incidents with the toilets (our fault) and on both occasions was assisted with smiles. The place is very clean and neat. We had both a self catering and an executive suit. Both met our expectations. The place is well positioned in Sabie to close shops. They have a lovely river flowing within walking distance (where we caught lovely rainbow trout) while the ladies enjoyed a relaxing time at the resident health spa which they offer upon arrival. The pool area sitting next to the bar right along the river was the perfect setting after a long day or site seeing, with bon fires and plenty activities. We are already planning our next trip and will be staying here again. Overall great place, plenty activities complemented with most friendly and helpful staff."

"Not very satisfied"

"The walls are dirty and requires new paint aswell as the bathroom door
the cleaning staff should clean the rooms properly

The manner, in which everyone goes about their chores, indicates to me they strive to be better each day. Food was well prepared, well presented. Rooms are big, clean and well maintained. Although building renovations were taking place close to the restaurant, we were not aware of it until we actually saw it.

"This was chosen as a honeymoon treat for our son and new daughter in law, after travelling around the world South Africa was the last stop for them.

They were totally exhausted after a 36 hour flight from India via Hong Kong into Joburg.

We booked them into the large honeymoon suite. They were very pleased with the accommodation. Champagne was on ice. The room was so romantic, all draped in white. Perfect for our honeymoon couple.

As it was our holiday too, my wife and I stayed in a standard bed room which was also very clean and comfortable. Lovely soft towels for use in the bathroom.

The staff were very friendly and the food was terrific. The roast pork supper was "to die for". Thanks chef! Lovely choice of food for breakfast. Enjoyed by us all.

The staff even put on "entertainment" for us during the evening. Very impromptu.
It made our stay perfect.

Many thanks to everyone."

Otherwise everything else was very nice, good service from waiters and waitresses. Sitting around the log fire in the evening was great and the breakfast was also very nice.

Thank you!"

"Nice place but cold accommodation"

(France) Mr Jerome

"This accommodations could have been a nice one due to the magnificent place its located but no service, lacking maintenance of gardens and swimming pool, we had booked the honeymoon room, very basic comfort and decoration, no light in the room neither outside, not cosy at all!"

"The Floreat Riverside Lodge is well situated in the heart of the stunning town of Sabie which a wonderfully central place to stay if you want to explore the region. The staff was friendly and very helpful and the Lodge was clean, tidy and well maintained. The rooms were lovely and the bathrooms which had obviously been renovated were very comfortable, especially the big bath.

The one problem I had was that the crockery was a bit sparse for a self catering room, for example there was no pot, salad bowl or wine glasses. The other problem I had is that they were building during our stay, I am aware it is their quiet period and would not have minded if this was during the week but the building bothered us on the public holiday as well as on Saturday and Sunday - we were out for most of the day but it started early in the morning and went on until quite late which was unfortunate.

Lastly there were problems with the TV and we could only get 2 channels (not good ones!), they did not manage to solve this problem while we were there, it would have been nice if they could have kept some cards and games on hand for people who do not want to watch TV or if like us there was no TV to watch! Overall we had a lovely stay and would visit again.

"Weekend stay"

(South Africa) Mr Wagenaar

"The reception was very friendly. The room was clean but very cold and very unattractive. No kettle was provided for the tea and coffee we had to ask. We made a booking for 4 people but there was only 2 bath towels.

The food was delicious and the waiter (Dronkie) very friendly!!!"

"On arrival, very imposing entrance, staff very friendly and quietly spoken. Booking in very quick and efficient. We were shown around and directed to our room, which we found to be a bit dingy. There was only one bedside table on one side of the double bed. We had to ask the next morning for a second bedside table.

Because the weather was misty, overcast and a lot of rain, we spent a lot of time in the room, no 11. It was hardly possible to read our books as the lighting is very poor, low voltage globes, covered with a yellow tinted glass.

To our knowledge, the restaurant offers a la carte and buffet, so the first night we went to supper to have a la carte, to be told by a very sullen waiter, whose name was Jonas, that only carvery was on offer that evening, at R105 a head.

The one wall of our room, was dotted with polyfiller, not a very attractive sight,
attached is a picture of our bath mat. It took at least 25 minutes to fill the bath to a reasonable depth of water. There was plenty of hot water.
I learned the hard way that I had to place a facecloth or towel on the ledge of the bath when running the bath water, as it (the water) did not flow directly into the bath, but hit the ledge first and then ran onto the floor.

On the plus side, the breakfast included in the price, was extremely tasty and plentiful and a great variety. The staff, other than Jonas were extremely friendly and helpful. The surroundings are beautiful, I would suggest that management place a few tables and chairs along the river frontage as there is nowhere to sit and enjoy the flowing river.

A slightly disappointing stay.. "

"We stayed here for 2 nights.

All the rooms are in separate blocks from the main hotel area, in groups of 4. The room was a reasonable size tho soft furnishings could do with being updated but it was clean. We found it a bit noisy when the next room was occupied - we could hear their tv and when the toilet was flushed!

The reception staff were friendly and helpful.

We had breakfast and dinner in the restaurant. The food was fine altho dinner on the second night was a buffet. There were rather a lot of potatatoes - potato soup, roast potato and sweet potato but no other vegetables to go with the roast beef. also the menu doesnt have the price of the meals on it which we found strange! We wanted a bottle of red wine with our meal but we tried to order 2 different ones and both were unavailable. Eventually we asked what they actually had instead.

The hotel has pleasant grounds and a nice pool and we enjoyed a day out to Blyde river canyon and Pilgrims rest.

"

"The hotel complex is nicely situated away from the through traffic of Sabie. The grounds are well kept but the pool could have done with a bit of a clean. The bungalows were clean and functional but needed modernizing. The water tended to spray everywhere through inappropriate shower curtains and ran out into the bedroom. That said the staff were helpful and pleasant. The restaurant was good and we enjoyed the food but it was not particularly memorable.

Floreat is well situated for sightseeing in the Drakensberg Mountains. We easily did The Potholes, Blyde River Canyon, God's Window and Pilgrim's Rest in one day and were back in time for a swim before dinner. Also you can drive to the Kruger Park in less than an hour.

We did quite allot of stuff while staying there...we visited lots of natural places, enjoyed the whole scenery birds and peace. we enjoyed the waterfalls pretty much,
we also enjoyed the buffet, set and a-la-carte menu including the great local and international cuisine.

We noticed that you have a whole range of facilities for weddings, conference rooms etc... the majestic forests and landscapes and sub-tropical vegetation make it the place for an idyllic holiday or relaxing conference"

"Breakaway"

The roof was leaking slightly in the room and entrance to the bathroom.

Thanx, have a great day.

It is close to all the places I was looking forward to see like Gods Window, Graskop, Pilgrim Rest etc. I enjoyed my stay and won’t mind to visit again. The food was excellent. We were given complementary drink because there were construction taking place and I think it’s a good way to show that they care for customers.

I hope one day I will be able to organise a trip being my family and close friends to visit the place. It was our honeymoon and I enjoyed every second.
