"One night in the Green Acorn"

We stayed in the Sandstone Cottage at the Green Acorn on 4 October 2015. Comfortable bed, good facilities (although the water pressure is a bit low) and very enjoyable breakfast.

I will gladly stay there again.

"We stayed in the Garden Cottage.

The room is pretty cramped but was suitable for myself, my wife and 21 month old toddler.

The room is in serious need of some maintenance. Eg Ceiling fan cannot be turned off, Unbalanced fan, and no lamp shade. Geyser leaking outside of room.

The hanging space is the cupboard is also very very limited.

On arrival the DSTV was not working but was promptly solved by management.

Geyser temperature was found to be inadequate. Temp differential is overrun by running a bath from the hot water tap only. Only one bath can be run from geyser. Management should increase geyser temperature to accommodate this problem.

The parking was not secured by the sliding gate. It was standing open for the whole of our stay. (Security not great)

The big acorn tree under which the parking area is located drips tree sap. My whole car was covered in very small spots of tree sap. Was easily cleaned off though.

Breakfasts were of a very good standard.

The town offers VERY little in relation to restaurants and things-to-do.

A Mosque is situated approx 1,5km from this establishment. The unpleasant evening 'whine' is clearly audible from the mosque.

The establishment also has an on-site bar which is open to the public. On the friday evening the celebrations went on into the early hours of Saturday morning, but this was luckily not repeated on Saturday eve."

"We enjoyed our stay at The Green Acorn Guest House. Although everything is antique, it's clean. The price was very reasonable."

"Good facilities, friendly people, a warm fire in the dead of winter, what more can you want?"
