We were shown to our fabulous room which had everything you could possibly want. Our room led out to a wonderful garden and pool area, where our table was laid out each morning for breakfast. We were able to relax and even had our restaurant for the first evening booked for us, which again we enjoyed very much.

Overall it is a perfect place to stay. We will certainly recommend it to our friends and family when they plan to visit South Africa and would prefer to stay in Onse Rus Guesthouse rather than a hotel any day.

We were also given help with booking a restaurant for the evening and our host made all the calls. Our room was beautiful but because it was facing the main street it was a little noisy first thing in the morning. On a longer stay we would wish to have a room overlooking the lovely internal garden and sit outside with a glass of wine. Our only regret was that we had not planned to stay any longer. Prince Albert and its surroundings are well worth making a stop for 2 to 3 days and staying at Onse Rus would certainly enhance your visit."

"We visited Prince Albert for the first time in November 2005 as part of a UK charity cycle ride - we were starting off cycling over the Swartberg Pass. A few of us were separated from the main party and were accommodated at Onse Rus, a beautiful traditional old building on the main street in the centre of the village. Lisa, the owner, gave us our first taste of wonderful South African hospitality and could not do enough to make our stay more comfortable - to the extent of giving me Bach's Flowers Rescue Remedy to help steady my pre-cycle nerves! We liked Prince Albert so much that when we decided to visit again in 2006 and did not hesitate to stay at Onse Rus again. Lisa greeted us like long lost friends and within moments had arranged our dinner reservation. Coincidentally we stayed in the same room. The room was extremely spacious and comfortable and beautifully furnished. Sadly we did not arrive in time to enjoy the chocolate cake that is usually provided at tea time. Breakfast was an absolute delight with fresh fruit and local yoghurt, freshly cooked eggs and bacon and toast sitting on the terrace by the swimming pool whilst being entertained by the dogs, cats and the prettiest chickens I have ever seen. If we return to Prince Albert for a third time we will not hesitate to stay again at Onse Rus."
