"Thirsty Falls is a beautiful, tranquil place to escape the traffic and busy city. So quiet and peaceful, you wouldn't know that you're only an hour or so from Joburg.
The chalets are wonderfully private, and isolated from each other, adding to the feeling that you are far away from civilisation, giving you the perfect opportunity to relax and "reset".
Everything is immaculate and well looked after.
Jenny and Alan are both very welcoming, accommodating, friendly and helpful.
We will definitely visit again and again.

Its not far from Johannesburg which is a bonus if you need to get out of town for a short break, and still feel relaxed and rejuvenated.

We will definitely be back soon. "

"One of the best places to go to for an absolutely relaxing 'break away from it all', yet still close enough from home! Jenny and Alan are fantastic hosts who brought fresh figs and packed my fire for toasting marshmallows. The surroundings are beautiful and lush, the chalet was private and lacked nothing, and the Ecopool was a wonderful new experience. Birds abound and the variety of bird sounds truly amazing. A bonus was the healing massage performed by a caring local massage therapist.
This is a place I will certainly return to! "

"Thirsty Falls was the perfect place for us to replenish our energies and recharge our state of being.
Set underneath the tranquil mountains surrounded by beautiful trees and bird songs, we managed to totally hide-away from the bustle of Jo'burg life.

We enjoyed the early morning walks and watching the sun rise and set every morning and evening.
One evening, we were lucky enough to view a spectacular lightening show as the rain nourished the land.

The accommodation was extremely comfortable with all the amenities needed. We stayed in the 2-bedroom Lavender cottage and we were pleasantly surprised at the spaciousness. The main bedroom had a romantic jet bath to soak all the stress away.

A lovely getaway place for a quick rejuvenation of mind.

The road leading to the lodge was a bit dodgy and we were a bit concerned about what we had gotten ourselves into, but there was no need to have worried. The accommodation was lovely! We had a wonderful stay. Jenny and Alan were perfect hosts and even managed to send us on our way with some indigenous plants to plant at home. I would recommend the Guest Farm to anyone that wants to get away from the rat race and just get back to nature."

"What we needed was a breakaway from a hectic couple of weeks and it was exactly that. It was a welcome switch from a hustle-bustle-life to a time-freeze (even if it was just for a weekend). We enjoyed supreme privacy for the entire weekend and were oblivious to any form of life even though we were on an operating farm. Such was the kindness of the hosts that they upgraded our accommodation for the weekend when they realised they were in a position to do so. The unit was modern, well-equipped and comfortable. The jacuzzi-bath was a lot of fun and the fireplace helped set a laid-back mood in the evenings. The setting in nature is unsurpassed resulting in spectacular dawns. We will no doubt do this again in future."

Nothing was too much to ask for and in fact Jenny realised that us 5 male species needed to be looked after and that she certainly did, fantastic breakfast's and dinner's and Alan treated us to an exquisite Poitje dinner.

Accommodation was comfortable, clean and roomy even with 5 of us. The views are the reason people will always come back to Africa and an added bonus was the two dogs (Cassidy and Rudy) who gave it the complete family feel.

If anyone is in the Rustenburg area and they miss out on Thirsty Falls, well it's their loss, I will be back one day.

Thanks Jenny and Alan, you have left a lasting memory for 5 very happy Aussie visitors.

Brian"

The morning was announced by the beautiful song from birds and the breeze from the veranda was amazing. We had the choice of either staying at the mountainside or view the busy world. Not much, save the busy streak of the traffic down there without the noise or with filtered noise by the bushes of different types.

To be honest, I could use the full two weeks up there without ever coming down to the crowds.

I would recommend this Farm to anyone that wants to have a taste of paradise."

Blissful silence, warm breeze, the smell of rosemary and friendly hosts like Alan and Jenny and we felt like we were in our own private little bubble with 5 star service at our beck and call almost as if we were still at home. The comfort, cleanliness and general atmosphere was like something out of a dream, we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful, serene place like thirsty falls. Thanks guys, hope to see you soon! Cannot get the weekend out of our minds and as a newly engaged couple showed us how beautiful life is when it’s just us every now and again."

The 5 cottages on the farm are close enough to each other to be rented by a family group, but they are also secluded and private, hidden by the natural bush. You won't know you have neighbours. The cottage that we stayed in was very neat and tidy and well stocked with everything you need for a self-catering weekend. The lounge-dining room-kitchen and spacious bedroom are well planned. The bathroom has a shower and a spa bath (highly recommended!)

Jenny, our hostess, was very friendly and helpful. She came around late Saturday afternoon to see if we were happy.

The traffic police welcome weekend visitors to North West Province and they will even give you a welcoming ticket, if you don't relax and enjoy their beautiful scenery. Start the weekend at a very slow pace on the dirt road to Thirsty Falls. You don't need a 4X4, but you do need to slow down to 20-30km/h!"
