"We stayed in Peperboom cottage. The cottage is clean and comfortable with a beautiful tree outside providing shade over the braai area. The cottage does overlook the 'main' road going through Mount Ceder so there are cars passing through. The river is great for swimming and canoeing. There are limited areas where you are able to swim meaning that everyone congregates in the same spots. Great place, but perhaps not the best location to choose if it is complete privacy you are looking for. "

Would have given a 5 rating if we were informed of all the activities or that there was a file in the cottage on our arrival. Only saw it 2 days later _. Great service by maintenance _. Beautiful hikes and walks even better as no TV or cellphone reception, which means you actually get to talk to one another _. Loved it"

"We stayed at one of the campsites - was a great weekend! Each site has a shade-cloth 'gazebo', which fit our biggish tent. Site comes with braai grids and tongs etc. Each site has it's own bathroom, consisting of a separate shower with piping hot water and toilet, each with basin. (Nicest camping ba..."

The scenery is beautiful, and the hike to the waterfall is well worth it - stunning. Staff at reception very professional."

It was everything we wanted - basic, but with everything needed; a beautiful view of the magnificent mountains; all things 'green' - LED lights, recycling, solar power, gas geysers. The access road was magnificent due to being scraped recently ( dirt road). It was much better than the tarred roads in most of the country! We would go back tomorrow if we could."

We had two superb walks The first to the lookout point. The vistas were spectacular. Our second walk took us to the waterfall and we were not disappointed, long cascading fall of water into a large and deep pool. We should have taken a picnic with us! Altogether a wonderful four days. I would recommend a stay at Mount Ceder Lodge to everyone who appreciates peace, quiet amid stunning surroundings."

The cottage we stayed in was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The kitchen is well appointed and the braai area is great. The large fire in the lounge is magic. We spent the days walking and canoeing, and the nights looking at the stars. What a sky!
We will definitely be going again to Mount Ceder Lodge. "

"If your idea of a holiday is to get away from it all including the constant buzz of mobile phones, emails and nothing to watch on TV, then you should definitely consider Mount Ceder. Situated in the beautiful Cederberg, Mount Ceder is off the beaten track. 34km of dirt road easily accessible by sedan, the facilities provide a home away from home. The shop at reception sells all the necessities including fire wood.
Activities include day walks to a hidden waterfall, bushman paintings, and a view of the valley. We were lucky enough to spot the endangered Riverine rabbit!

The Cederberg in winter was incredible - unspeakable beauty in rain and in sunshine. Glorious sunsets and mind-boggling star-studded skies. Highly recommended for a getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life and for some of the most spectacular scenery in South Africa."
