"What a wonderful spot.

My wife and I stayed in the Gourikwa Cottages for 3 nights in January. The cottages were neat, well equipped with 2 bedrooms each with their own en-suite. Wifi and DSTV, ceiling fans made the stay even more comfortable. But what topped it off was the view from the stoep over the ocean while enjoying an evening braai.

The reserve itself also has a lot to offer. The pool and clubhouse make a nice spot to spend the hot summer days. And the zebras and eland make for some interesting night time visitors.

Overall we had a wonderfully peaceful and relaxing stay and would definitely recommend it to anyone. We will definitely be coming back"

Only critique was that as a self catering room there were only tea / coffee facilities which made it difficult to self cater. Groceries and restaurants were further away than expected in Stillbaai or Vleesbaai. All said, we loved it and will definitely go back and sty in one of the bigger houses."

"Loved the stay and the comfort. The bushes in front of the unit could be cut a little lower to allow a sea view while being seated. The pillows were a bit too hard. Overall, would def recommend."

"We loved the the fishermans houses, the view was really spectacular. The houses were clean and pretty. Loved the fact that there was no cell reception. The only negative was the pillows are too big and puffed and one cannot sleep on them. Otherwise everything was great."

The main thing would be the fact that there is no cell phone reception so no one can call you and it allows you to have a peace of mind. On the other hand, the Wi-Fi had such a strong connection so we were able to use WhatsApp and the Internet. We had an awesome stay."

"We enjoyed our stay in one of the fisherman houses with beautiful views. With the houses being far apart it adds to the sense of being secluded in the middle of un-spoilt nature.
The house we stayed in was clean and comfortable. The swimming pool and entertainment area is a winner. If you are into hiking and mountain biking this is a great destination.
A swimming beach would have made Gourikwa the perfect destination for us. The drive to Gourits to enjoy the waves is spectacular right next to the waves crashing into the rocky shore.
We will visit again.
