For our evening meal, Maggie directed us to Grunter's Pub in the village where we sat round the fire, chatting with other guests and enjoying an excellent meal. Somehow we still managed to eat the generous breakfast provided the following morning and then we were on our way, fully refreshed and restored. We would definitely like to return to Addo Gateway, both to stay there as a base for the Park but also to take a river cruise. "

We were really surprised because we have been around a lot, also in other countries and nowhere except 5 star hotels like the Palace at Sun City did we receive so much special attention.

Professional handling of finances and administration as well. Within the next couple of months the guest house will be able to take more people and the use of an indoor pool as well. It is near where the river runs into the sea, lovely and peacefull although between other houses. "

When traveling to Addo Gateway lodge I typed Addo instead of Colchester in my Car navigator, so we had to drive more than an hour over sandy roads to arrive in Colchester. This adventurous journey ended with a warm welcome and a cold beer from Maggie.
