A warm welcome awaits you at The Manderson, three star Hotel and Conference Centre, situated at the base of the forested Amatola Mountains, 7km from the town of Stutterheim.

We offer a choice of Deluxe Rooms and Junior Suites set in a pristine garden setting as well as the Shoe Box Cottage and Manderson Suite which offer an extra touch of luxury. All rooms include ensuite bathrooms (with separate bath and walk-in shower), coffee and tea making facilities, direct dial telephones, satellite television, wall heaters and electric blankets.

The verandah and wooden deck extending to the edge of the swimming pool offer magnificent mountain views and is the perfect place to enjoy a light meal, recline on a pool lounger or to sip sundowners while daylight fades.

In the morning we serve a full English breakfast and thereafter offer light lunches. In the evening the restaurant offers a table d’hôte menu, served in our candlelit dining room. The menu changes daily with a choice of two starters, two main courses and two desserts, which may be complimented by your choice of more than 25 different wines. Our pub has a great atmosphere and offers a wide selection of alcoholic, as well as non-alcoholic beverages.

The Manderson has become a popular venue for conferences, training seminars, presentations and product launches. Amahlathi Conference Room can accommodate 90 delegates and the Amatola Conference Room accommodates 50. Both venues are specifically designed and built for conferencing purposes. Conference centre equipment available include, digital data projector with surround sound, flip charts, overhead projector, television and video machine, additional electrical outlets, overhead fluorescent and wall lighting, telephone, wireless internet connectivity, men and ladies toilet facilities as well as administrative support, such as e-mail and internet, faxing, copying and secretarial services.

Other services and amenities include a laundry and valet service, packed lunches and picnic baskets, baby cots and babysitting. All credit cards are accepted and there is open or covered parking in safe surroundings.

"We found the service good, from the time that I booked on the internet. The door of our unit would not lock and the lady at reception immediately walked over and sorted the problem out for us. On leaving we were invited to go for a walk with one of the ladies on our next visit and said she was looking forward to seeing us real soon. The food was very good and so was the fire in the bar area on Saturday night as it was a little chilly."

"The road to Manderson Hotel and Conference Centre is very deceptive. The dirt road and the RDP houses one passes through, is bound to dampen the spirit of the faint-hearted. However patience is what is required to discover the gem in Manderson. On reaching the hotel one can't help the feeling of being in paradise or heaven. Remember, the road to heaven is described as winding and narrow, and not so welcoming.

Both the day and night reception staff were welcoming and very helpful in fulfilling my request, willing to go an extra mile. The rooms are small but very cozy, providing the basic needs. As to the breakfast, the English breakfast was delicious, and one of the reasons I'd want to go back to Manderson Hotel and Conference Centre and will recommend it to my friends.

I'd surely visit the hotel anytime I have to travel to the Eastern Cape. Thumbs-Up to the Manderson Hotel and Conference Centre's management and staff."
