"I am proud and pleased to say that this resort is a must for breaking away from life's hustle and bustle and just Rest with the most beautiful sounds and scenery of mature especially waking up to sweet songs of the most beautiful birds in different colours and the classic ancient farm and voortekker style chalets are so adventurous

I strongly recommend this place for a sound and sacred retreat

I experienced nature's own healing balm first hand while here

Best of all is the very warm friendly helpful and hospitable owners Dorie and Jaap and their staff

I really felt more than at home and definitely will go again"

It was so well situated for us, and to top it all of with the accomadation that were more expensive than the originally booked accom,we were not asked to pay in any extra money, i mean this place was like a fully equipt house, everything you need. its just that time flew so quick and it was difficult leaving it all behind. This place is probable fully booked during holiday season, in that i have no doubt. I love nature andthe quite atmosphere. That is the place to be"

The hiking trail we did was also magnificent and so was the lapa braai area.

We will definitely be back and we will definitely stay a bit longer next time.

A big thanks for to Oom Japie and Tannie Dorie, we will see you again :)"

"We arrived at Bergrivier two days into our holiday and in much need of a the paradise that awaited. Bergrivier is tranquil, beautiful and has a simple air about it. We had the entire campsite to ourselves and we found ourselves relxing within nature almost instantly.

Japie made us completely at home within their camp site - the bathrooms were clean, we had free firewood and the fire-wood powered geyser was set up for us on arrival. I couldn't have asked for more welcoming patrons and I could feel their love for their farm and the place where their family has stayed for so many generations. I really consider this a special place where I will definitely return to."

"Nature break"

(South Africa) Margot Schnetler

"What a lovely time spent at Bergrivier. The walks along the trails were lovely. The quietness of the surroundings. The stunning evening bonfire under the stars and moon indescribable. Will definitely return."

"Camping"

(South Africa) ellie goossens

"It was such a peaceful, rustic campsite and we had a very friendly welcome. Both days we walked up the unspoiled side kloof where the vegetation was very lush with quite a number of birds, as well as an eagle's nest. Although the water was fresh we had a great swim in the pool in the river."

Our favourite was the old-school donkey (making a fire every morning for our hot shower) and the most beautiful walk up the river. We can't wait to do this again when we get back to see if our rock pile that we made is still standing. We will most definitely be back! Will just bring more drinking water next time! Overall the most wonderful weekend I have had in a long time! Thank you Oom Japie and Tannie Dorie."

"We had a wonderful two night stay at Bergrevier, The gravel road leading to the cottage was a little daunting but quite do-able for a normal car. We were warmly welcomed and when we arrived at the wooden cottage there were welcome chocolates for all of us. The cottage was spotless and made up beautifully and even had some coffee, tea and sugar in case those were forgotten.

The home made fire-lighter for the braai was an extra special touch. The hike up to the waterfall was beautiful and the next day over the mountain just as breath taking. There is a map in the cottage and the trails are very well marked.

There was a terrible storm on the Saturday night and it rained about 110ml, Jappie, our host came to check that all was ok the next morning. We were all fine but the river had come down in flood and the campers were stranded till the river subsided. Thanks to Jappie and Dorie for a wonderful stay and we will be back."
