But for me it was a little over the top and one or two nights would be enough for me, but must admit beds are really comfortable, linen very clean and the cottages extremely well equipped, spacious and clean. Lovely staff,, good atmosphere throughout the hotel and excellent meals - really good value for money. Absolutely no complaints at all."

"Good overnighter"

(South Africa) Amoere Nel

"Friendly staff, good breakfast/dinner. The cottages needs a bit of maintenance, but still good for the price. If they could have the street closed off and made into a parking and leisure area it would be great. Street feels a bit unsafe and detracts form the olde world experience."

"Great one night stay"

(South Africa) Darryl Macus

"Friendly staff, clean rooms, great food and an amazing experience due to the hotel's historical and quaint feel make this a hotel I can strongly recommend for a one night passing through stay"

"Accommodation can make or break a holiday, and never has this been truer than during our time in Craddock. The accommodation was a real maker, and when we returned home, we were full of stories of our magical night in 'Die Tuishuise'.
Staying in number 21 Millbrooke was as if history was coming alive before our eyes. As we entered the rustic kitchen, we noticed a copper kettle sitting on an old coal stove. There was a cosy fireplace with a mince-maker hanging nearby. The whole room reminded us of a bygone era. This feeling continued as we moved through the rest of the house. In the dining room, we were met with an elegantly set dining table; the bathroom had an inviting Victorian bath, and the main bedroom a quaint four-poster bed with white cotton sheets. The excitement in the house was palpable: we were all looking forward to spending a night in a museum.
Despite the olden day feel to the house, we were still able to enjoy the comforts of modern times. The kitchen was fully equipped with an electric kettle and microwave, the bathrooms had hot water, and the bedrooms had electric blankets.
That night, with it being winter, we all gathered around the fireplace in the parlour, and with the background crackling of the fire, we chatted the night away.
The following morning we were greeted with Karoo hospitality as we enjoyed a mouth-watering breakfast. We packed our car, and said goodbye to number 21 Millbrooke as we drove out of the sleepy town of Craddock.
Our stay in Craddock has been one of our most memorable yet. From the exhilaration of living in an antique house, to the cosy rooms, the delectable food, and the warm hospitality... everything was an experience never to forget.

Baie baie Dankie.

(RoomsForAfrica translated)
Since we were welcomed at reception everything was done professionally. The staff was very friendly, helpful and we really felt at home. The facilities were very neat, clean and fully up to standard. We forgot a cell phone and a few small items at the Harry Potter house. We had barely gone when we were called by the staff to inform us. We could turn around and get it soon, without having lost anything. WOW! It's excellent, honest service you still find in our country these days.
We surely recommend anyone to stay there for a few days in one of the Home Houses. You will not regret it. Many many thanks.

The cottages are amazing and each decorated and furnished to the highest standard - such a lot of thought by the owner has gone into the renovations of each one to give the old world charm that they have. They were beautifully clean and had some lovely touches with lavender sprigs on the towels, fresh flowers etc. A large party of guests arrived to stay on the night we arrived and the menu unfortunately had to be curtailed giving no choice of starter or dessert. The staff were very aware of this and made every effort to compensate, and we were very grateful."

We especially enjoyed the beautiful British shorthair cat’s visit one night, I love relaxing and reading with a cat on my lap. The reason why I regard Die Tuishuise one star short of excellent is the pool area, it could do with improvement. We very much hope to return one day with more time to explore all the interesting places in and around Cradock.
