The self-catering Birdsong Cottage No.9 provided exactly that and was a tremendously refreshing place for us to be. The privacy and quietness of this private estate provided just what we wanted. The view of the mountains and valleys, and the surrounding fauna and flora added tremendously to our quiet pleasure. This huge cottage has a large open plan lounge/dining room/kitchen, all the comforts of a five-star dwelling, with comfortable beds and quality bedding, plenty of beautiful furniture to lounge on, enormous cupboard space and full DSTV. Each room has its own large en-suite. The flourishing garden is beautifully manicured. The cottage was serviced daily which added greatly to our comfort and leisure. Will certainly visit again. We will certainly without hesitation recommend these cottages nestled in the mountains as the perfect Drakensberg adventure. We had a lovely stay and everything was wonderful. Cottage 10 was very comfortable and spacious and particularly it has a deck with a beautiful view which we enjoyed thoroughly.

A better view would be difficult to find having both the berg on the left and the lake at Drakensburg Sun in easy eye-sight on the right.
