"We had a very enjoyable stay at Shamrock from 17 to 20 April 2016.

The meals were of the highest standard and the relaxed atmosphere most enjoyable.

When we had an emergency, there was no question, that we were driven to the next hospital (min. one hour drive) and our host stayed with us, until everything was set.

Never in our life, we knew someone who felt so responsible for the wellbeeing of his guests. Thank you!"

We immediately got the feeling that this was a very popular place. The staff and owners greeted us warmly and were friendly and helpful throughout our visit. Rooms were modern, tastefully decorated, and meticulously clean. Food was excellent. There were 3 churches within 2 blocks down the same street and on Sunday morning the sound of bells and singing filled the air."

"We arrived at the Shamrock Arms rather late in the day and quite tired after travelling down from Lusaka. To our dismay our booking had been incorrectly booked for the following month! Whether through our own fault or not, we don't know and it is not important now. What was important was the attitude of our hosts Terry and Cheryl, they were wonderful about the whole thing. Fortunately, although they were fully booked for both the previous and for the following night, they happened to have a free room for that particular night. The room was excellent in every way and we had a very comfortable stay. Cheryl was kindness itself and despite the late hour cooked us a lovely meal. We would have absolutely no hesitation in staying there again or indeed in recommending it to anyone else. Terry told us that they had they not had an available room for us that night they would have found us alternative lodgings, which we thought was extremely helpful. We wish them every success, we convey our heartfelt thanks."

"When looking for a halfway place to stay driving from Jo'burg to Kruger we decided upon Waterval Boven and the Shamrock Arms. On our arrival we were met by the owner Terry and shown to our room. The room was much bigger than expected and in a block separate and behind the main Shamrock Arms. It was clean, well presented and had Sat TV and a room safe. However the best thing about this place is the people, Terry made us feel very welcome and we sat and watched the Rugby World Cup 1/4 final with him and some of the regulars. Later on we treated to some very good home cooked food and a few glasses of wine in the bar. Breakfast was a very tasty and more than we had expected. All in all a great value for money hideaway that we'll recommend to our friends in or visiting South Africa, ideal for a halfway stop off but more importantly for a relaxing break."

"We had a few problems with my friends, so by the time we left Jo'burg, it was already after 19h00. I only realised later that we had even forgotten the contact details, to let people at Shamrock know that we were running late. Imagine my surprise when they called to find out how and where we were. We were really impressed, and from then on they had made an excellent impression on us. By the time we got there, needless to say, it was after 22h00, but Terry still offered us something to drink. The rooms were excellent, warm, huge, comfortable and breakfast was just perfect. Due to a few unforeseen problems, we had to sleep only for one night instead of the planned, 2. At the end what we paid was a lot less than we expected. They made sure that we came out feeling happy, and definitely indebted to them.
They are super people, in that they actually put themselves in our shoes and understood where were coming from. We WILL definitely go there again, and hopefully very soon.
Thank you for such a wonderful experience, and for making sure that even when we could not stay the proposed time, you still made us feel special. We loved it!
