"I've always enjoyed Lilac Lodge. The unit I was in this time is small, but has everything you need if you want genuine self catering facilities rather than just a microwave like so many other places provide these days under the definition of self catering. I was there for just over a week, and was very comfortable and relaxed. There are beautiful gardens outside as well. The location is good. Being in Winterton, you have restaurants, shops, a Spar and OK within walking distance. It is also only 30 mins away from the Monks cowl reserve and 50 mins away from the Cathedral Peak reserve. The hosts - Susan and Louis are organised and friendly. The price was very good. The unit is cleaned daily. This was my third stay there, and it most certainly will not be my last. "

"Susan is very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the area which really helped us. Except for the infrequent trucks that passed during the day, it was a peaceful stay. Citronella oil helped in keeping the cats away which contributed to a more pleasant stay. "
