"Nice stay"

(South Africa) Mannie

"We stayed two nights and all went well.
Only complaint is that the curtains should be less transparent to have a darker room at night.
Otherwise good.

"The Kloofhuis Guest House provides clean, comfortable and spacious accommodation. Our host Steve was friendly and informative without being intrusive and I would rate this as a very good value for money establishment. It is in a quiet area of Barberton but within walking distance of most major attractions and facilities. I cannot comment on the quality of the breakfast as we left early, but the entries in the visitor's book indicate that it is of high quality."

"Kloofhuis"

The only complaint is you don't have a choice for breakfast, it was already made when we sat down, e.g., we wanted scrambled eggs, but poached had already been made. The locatio..."

"My stay in the Kloofhuis Guest House in Barberton was one of my best in South Africa. The house is a kind of an institution here in Barberton because it was once used as the office of the mining company. Most of the rooms, like mine, were offices ones. For an Austrian like me it has got just an charme and the owner is a perfect host by helping in any directions. I will definitely recommend this place to my friends at home as long as they are not so stupid not to go to this fantastic country and there wonderful so much helping and lovely people!

Sincerely,
Torsten Kreck

Sorry for my lousy English!"

"I have never had faith in the pictures posted on the websites but I must say that the pictures of the Kloofhuis Guest House as posted on the website depicted the guest house as is. "Top in Barberton"

"Barberton is Jock of the Bushveld country and Kloofhuis fits the mould. Draped across the hill above the old town it is a comfortable old house, dating back to the 19th century, set amidst mature lowveld trees. Our room was enormous and opened out onto a wide veranda with a heavenly view across the Barberton valley. The friendly owner obviously loves this house and has lovingly restored it to a high level of comfort. Our only regret about staying here is that we wish we had stayed longer. Would we stay here again? You bet we would and next time use it as a base to visit Swaziland and the Kruger Park"
