iKhaya LamaDube Game Lodge is situated in Dinokeng Big 5 Game Reserve in Gauteng. This self-catering lodge is approximately 70 minutes drive from Johannesburg, OR Tambo International Airport, and Pretoria, Tshwane.

iKhaya LamaDube Lodge is the place where romance, peace and serenity awaits you in a natural indigenous bush setting. iKhaya LamaDube strive to provides guests with an atmosphere of relaxation, seclusion and tranquility.

A variety of privately spaced accommodation is available to suit individual preferences. Each of the 8 units accommodates 2 persons only. Each unit has its own private bushveld boma for a lovely campfire and a night under the stars. A no young children policy creates an opportunity for parents and couples to unwind and relax. Time to rekindle the fire by spending private and quality time with each other.

iKhaya LamaDube Lodge is also ideal also for small groups or friends to book the lodge in its entirety, be it a small conference, wedding or just a getaway.

Free-roaming wild animals that can be seen either on game drive safari or self-drive. Species that can be spotted include elephant, rhino, lion, buffalo, cheetah, giraffe, kudu, blue wildebeest, warthog, and many other plains game.

iKhaya LamaDube Lodge and surrounds is an absolute birders paradise for bird watching. The only martial eagle breeding site in Gauteng is close to the lodge. Awake to the sound of birdsong, and you might also hear the white bellied korhaan or blue cranes sounds early morning.
Game Drives are available at an additional fee.

*No Arrivals allowed after 19:30 at the Lodge.
* Regrettably no pets allowed.
* Regret no children.
* No smoking in the bedrooms. Smoking allowed on patio or deck where we supply ashtrays.
* No collecting of wood on the lodge or in the reserve, please bring own wood or buy at reception.
* As we are a quiet bush lodge for people enjoying the sounds of the bushveld, no playing of music or loud partying is allowed on the premises.
*Please note that there is a gravel road leading to the accommodation. Guests are required to enquire about the condition of the gravel road before booking.

"If you want to escape the fast paced city life and truly want to enjoy the peace and quiet the bush has to offer I will highly recommend iKhaya lamaDube Game Lodge.
For those who want a romantic weekend away, enjoy some privacy and would like to connect with a loved one, iKhaya lamaDube Game Lodge will not disappoint.
Since iKhaya is located in the heart of the Dinokeng nature reserve you are awakened by bird song in the early morning and at night one can stare at the dancing flames of your bonfire (in your own private boma) while listening to the nightjars and jackal in the background. Or you might just be so lucky to get a visit from the resident monitor lizard right at your feet.
The rondavel is highly recommended as it is tucked away, between trees, away from the other accommodation for some privacy. The rondavel is tastefully decorated, clean, comfortable with all the necessary amenities. An absolute bonus is the rustic shower. Once you roll up the canvas you can enjoy a truly bush shower experience.
When we arrived we were treated like African royalty (staff were dressed in ethnic African clothes) and we received a tantalizing welcoming drink and hot towel. The friendly staff really went an extra mile to make our stay as comfortable and romantic as possible.
Without arranging anything beforehand the rondavel was decorated with a romantic theme in mind, rose petals on the bed, fresh flowers in the room etc. On Saturday afternoon a romantic table was set for us at our private boma area. I must commend the staff and the hosts (Tienie and Gerd) for their kindness and friendliness. We have been travelling all over the country and have stayed at a couple of self-catering accommodation lodges and must say, we rate iKhaya lamaDube Game Lodge in our best top 5 overall.
Gerd and Tienie was so nice they took some of the guests on a late afternoon game drive, unfortunately it started to rain and we got soaking wet, but what absolute fun it was !
So, if you are planning a romantic/quiet weekend away close to Johannesburg, which will not cost you an arm or a leg, iKhaya lamaDube Game Lodge is definitely worth a visit !"
