Thirty three years since my last visit we hit the road, Potchefstroom, Klerksdorp and so forth. On our way all I could think of was that the trip is so far, how does Barkly look these days and most important the thought of the place we are going to sleep for the night. What if we are disappointed?
Red in the face from the heat, we parked in front of One Fountain’s gate, like an oasis in the desert. First there is an unnoticeable under roof parking for our vehicle. The right beginning, coming from Gauteng a safe parking spot is a must and it is right in front of our overnight apartment. Cool and fresh with a tiled floor to calm our sore feet, good. A shower in which you can do the rain dance, even better. No shortcomings, kettle, microwave and even a cold fridge to put my melting chocolates in.
Early in the evening, off to bed, nice broad comfortable beds on which we can lie down our tired bodies. Even with M-net, what a bonus. A luxury we do not have at home.
Sunday morning, a complete breakfast from yogurt, juice and the rest just as the rating indicated XXX, where after, at the end of our short visit, we can take on the long road back home and arrived safely , within 48 hours.
