I found the lunch and wine tasting at Creations winery to be exceptional for quality value and friendliness. The lunch and tasting at La Vierge was almost is good and had an exceptional view. One place to eat a five minute walk from hornbill is called Eat. It gets great reviews but I found it very disappointing. The only downside is you are always from walks along the shore at Hermanus.

Note if you stay here they have the three-pronged round plugs so the UK and European converters do not work,"

"I have travelled quite a bit throughout my life and I must say Hornbill House ranks high on the places to revisit. The owner is warm and friendly. He took the time to welcome us personally and on arrival we found a pleasant surprise of a bottle of homemade wine with a personal note attached. The place was extremely reasonably priced for the facilities. Clean bedding, comfortable bed, waterfall shower head and situated in a beautiful part of town. I am only sorry we were only able to stay a night. Next time I'm taking my time and spending a couple of consecutive days at Hornbill House.
