I loved the fact that you were camping, but had all the luxuries included, so packing was minimal. The facilities were spotless and absolutely fitted our requirements. We enjoyed sundowners on our very own deck before moving on to the restaurant where we enjoyed the most amazing seafood served in a heart warming homely atmosphere.

"When my husband and I booked at Skilpierskraal we never knew what to expect and we obviously did not expect much of the small little town Hondeklipbaai in the middle of nowhere. My husband joked and said that it will be a good time for us to be alone and do some bonding. We took the road from Springbok via Kommaggas and Soebatsfontein to Hondeklipbaai. The closer we came to Hondeklipbaai, the more we realized how isolated this area is surrounded by miles and miles of nothing. Hondeklipbaai suddenly appeared out of the mist and it took us only 2 minutes to locate Skilpieskraal.
What a place! Immediately we were greeted by the friendly owners Rob and Dawn. The place was absolutely spotless. Just the way we like it – no luxuries or pretensions very neat and simple. The tented camp is well planned with communal bathrooms (hot water and spotless) and a fully equipped kitchen and braai area. Directly next to camp is the Rooi Spinnekop restaurant – truly much more than we expected. We had a wonderful time – had the best “Hotnot” fish, lots of wine, a lekke braai, lots of west coast hospitality and met some wonderful people.
This is truly the place to discover yourself where you realize that simplicity, good friends, family and peace of mind is all one need to be happy."
