"We had a great time at Blue Gum on a weekend getaway trip to the Hermanus area!

Anton and his staff were so welcoming, and they are fantastic hosts that really went out of their way to make our stay memorable.

Our room was big and comfortable, with the added bonus that Blue Gum is a pet-friendly establishment. The gardens are lovely!

The attention to detail at Blue Gum is remarkable, and one night is really not enough to enjoy everything that Blue Gum has to offer! "

Anton was ready to point out MTB routes and things to do. A must stay! "

"By Gum - Blue Gum Country Estate is fabulous!"

(South Africa) Alan | 7 March 2018

"We found Blue Gum to be quite beautiful, very relaxing and quiet, our room was gorgeous but we do think the housekeeping could be improved somewhat. The gardens are delightful and beautifully maintained. The views are spectacular. The staff are all very friendly indeed."

"We spent two lovely nights at Blue Gum in early August, staying in one of the cottages with a gorgeous view over the mountain behind.

There are loads of positives but for us the most impressive thing was how friendly and helpful all the staff are, without exception. The decor and atmosphere of the house and grounds is classic and comfortable. Our cottage was beautifully appointed, and the information file provided was a really good read, the best we'd seen on our trip. The food was gorgeous: the breakfast buffet was out of this world, afternoon scones very welcome and the evening meals of very good quality.

And Zane and Anton the owners could not do enough for us, suggesting and arranging activities which were spot on for what we wanted. The Panthera sanctuary just five minutes away was excellent, and the shark diving company Blue Gum recommended was by far the best set up that we could see (we had an amazing trip to see the Great Whites).

The only thing that we think could be improved is the piped music which haunts you in every public space. It is on from morning to night, is too loud, and on one memorable day was the same single piece of Mozart over and over again. This would be an easy win for Blue Gum and would make it completely perfect!
