Our only minor hiccup was finding the road again the next morning as we had arrived in the dark and not seen the local geography when we drove in. This resulted in a non guided tour of a couple of neighbouring farms until we came upon a group of farm workers who happily directed us. Finding the farm gate on arrival in the dark the evening before had been no problem.

"Our stay at the Uitspan Guest Farm was by far the most pleasant we have experienced to date. We arrived very late, at 22h00, due to the long trip from Swakopmund and having to nurse a vehicle which had given us problems in Namibia.

Our hostess Andrea Louw was most accommodating and waited for us to arrive to be able to welcome us. The rooms are beautifully decorated and so large. The bathrooms are perfect and all the other rooms (kitchen, dining area, lounge) were also of a high standard.

The gardens are beautifully kept and one felt so safe and secure. It was so peaceful and tranquil. We did not have breakfast but did have dinner on the second night. This was outstanding, especially as there had been a power failure due to the heavy lightning.

Both Pieter and Andrea are to be congratulated on running a most welcome and comfortable guest house. There is no need to look for a 5 star hotel, Uitspan can supply it all. One thing which really impressed my wife was that for the first time there was a mirror situated above a mains plug so that you could at least see what you were achieving when drying your hair.

Andrea and Pieter Louw and the staff of Uitspan Guest Farm are tops when it comes to hospitality. We will not hesitate to recommend it to others and in fact, hope to be able to repeat a most enjoyable experience in the not too distant future."
