"This beautifully restored Cape Malay house is located in a brilliant spot in Cape Town, close enough to the hustle and bustle to be in a good proximity (in many cases, a walking distance) to places of interest but out of the way enough to allow for a good nightÕs sleep. The rooms were clean, nicely designed to make the most of the space and very comfortable with an endearingly homely feel. All the amenities we needed were there. We were extremely pleased with our stay and Bruce (plus two extremely friendly pooches Ð Coco and Teddy) was a wonderful host. We would definitely recommend this charming guesthouse and will happily stay there again.

"My room was wonderful - the top (2nd floor) room with exclusive roof terrace at 22 on Rose. Decor was restful, bed comfortable, bed linen excellent quality. I enjoyed breakfasts with other guests. Bruce and Edward were fantastically helpful and welcoming. My only slight reservation - I was travelling on my own (hence I really appreciated the warm welcome and helpful hosts) - but the room would have been a little small for 2 people, especially for if staying for more than 1 night.

"Everything was really up to a luxury stay: After confirmation of the room all necessary details were asked to make sure that the room was ready, like flight details or special wishes. Airport transfer was offered as well. For guests arriving with their own car a detailed description of how to reach the place including GPS coordinates was provided. A couple of days prior to the arrival all details have been checked again, to make sure nothing is missing. On arrival a city map with surrounding area was provided, some restaurant suggestions also (very important for me as a hilarious foody) which have been all worth visiting. Bruce was asking if I know the city or not and even knowing the city from previous visits, he drew my attention to some places or attractions I hadn’t seen so far. The breakfast is self serving, and I enjoyed this as well. Thank you to Bruce and his team. I will be back in Cape Town and back with Rose Lodge."

"I am very satisfied with my stay at the B&B Rose Lodge, 22.

It is important to add the number 22. Indeed, the master's house is on 28, Rose Lodge and the façade of that house is pink or 'rose' in French, while the one on the 22 is grey.

I lived at the second floor (ground-floor = first floor). The room is big
and well furnished, very well illuminated, with three windows. The biggest one gives access to a giant terrace. Then there are steps to go to a second terrace, the both of them giving an extraordinary view on central Cape Town and on Signal Hill and the Malawi district.

The bathroom is full equipped with a large shower.

The kitchen on the ground floor is well furnished too and there is a big living room where you can take breakfast.

Every day, the fridge is filled (with tasteful bread and orange juice) and the bathroom and sleeping room are cleaned every day.

In one word, an excellent B&B, worthwhile for the price you are paying for!

Our host Bruce provided excellent continental breakfasts but be warned - don't breakfast in flip-flops or Bruce's cute little dogs Coco and Teddy will lick your feet to pieces! We loved being within walking distance of downtown Cape Town and experiencing first hand the striking colourful neighbourhood of Bo Kaap. The room was beautifully decorated and the bed was so comfy. Coco and Teddy are adorable and so well behaved. Having Bruce, Coco and Teddy around made us feel so at home. We loved our breakfast and Bruce's company and conversation. He was also very helpful with any questions we had about touring Cape Town. We appreciated having Wi-Fi in our room which is often hard to find in South Africa.
