"Lovely setting in bird-filled garden, 'Big garden rooms' beautifully appointed with all the special touches you would give your own guest room at home. Friendly hosts and homely atmosphere. Would love to stay there again."

"Lovely calm oasis"

(South Africa) Jessica Moolman | 11 January 2015

"Very nicely appointed room which was large enough for our family of four and dog. Nice verandah where we could watch the children swim. Big garden for dog to roam around & lovely and cool in the heat of the afternoon.

Thanks for your hospitality - and hope to stay there next December!"

"A welcome sight after a long drive"

Elizabeth Sawdye | 29 January 2009

"We were warmly received by Pat and John in their beautiful garden. The room was lovely, although the beds were a little narrow. However the space for hanging clothes was much too short - even my husband's clothes were resting on the floor."

"We had a pleasant stay in green environs. John and Pat were most hospitable and were also most flexible in attending to changes in our requirements."

The room (single) I stayed in, was neat, the bed comfortable with a stunning view of the garden. I also had breakfast with them, which could easily compare with most English breakfasts on offer.
I would surely recommend Five Acres Guest House to all visiting the "City of Diamonds". "

"After the long drive from Cape Town to Kimberley, it was such great pleasure to find ourselves staying in the Five Acres Guest House, sitting outside our cottage sipping an ice cold gin 'n tonic and relaxing watching the awesome birdlife in the tranquillity of the beautiful garden. This is indeed a little oasis, especially after the harshness of the hot Karoo.
My wife and I recommend the Five Acres Guest House to anyone who is looking for the ultimate stop over.

The breakfast was delightful and the only concern I have regarding the breakfast was that I couldn't decided whether Pat or John cooked it better :) absolutely great time there guys thank you very much"

"My husband and I stayed overnight at Five Acres. We were pleasantly delighted with our accommodation. The self-contained room was spacious and well furnished. We were able to relax in comfort. The gardens were quiet and restful after our long drive from Cape Town and the air-conditioned room was great after the sweltering heat of the road. The breakfast in the lovely dining-room was plentiful and we most certainly will be back when we are next in the vicinity. "
