"We were very impressed with Malvahuisie itself, but very disappointed with the village of de Rust. There was not one restaurant that we could go out to dinner after 7pm. Most closed at 4pm, another wouldn't open due to loadshedding and the only one open until 7pm was more a coffee shop. "

Situated on the roadside of the N12 in the quaint little town of De Rust the evening traffic noise gives way to quietness of the Klein Karoo night. Not many options for getting a quick meal in town but Minika is working on that. Having recently taken over ownership and operations Minika has plans to expand her kitchen and there is talk of some local craft beer! Minika's conscious attention to detail made for a homely stop-over with our kids. We look forward to a return visit next year.
