"After a previous disappointing stay in Tzaneen I decided that even though it is just 1 night I should try and get better accommodation and tried to check for specials to see what I could get for my precious R1000. Kings Walden is a beautiful place and the gardens is something out of another world, but that is where it ends. The room that we stayed in needs a lot of maintenance and was right next to the kitchen and the staff were not very considerate the next morning. The seating in the lounge is pathetic, and although dinner was great, the breakfast that was included in the price was a disaster. We had breakfast in the garden, in the sun on table that was falling apart. The orange juice was boiling and fruit had already gone brown by the arranged time that we arrived at the table. The staff also had a problem understanding what we needed. The bowels for the cereals were dirty and the utensils also needed soap and water. The milk that was offer for my coffee stood for about 45 min in the sun at another table and I am still waiting for the sugar. I am sure that this will not be posted as a review, and I don't expect any contact from the owners but I needed to verbalize my disappointment. We are hard working people and if we do spend money we try and spend it wisely and invest it in good memories, and this was not the best investment I had made in my life. "

"The hotel was nice, the owners very friendly, the room okay, the dinner (not included) excellent as was the included breakfast. We booked for 3 nights but left after staying one night. Main reason for that was that there was not enough privacy. We could either sit in the (public) garden or stay in the room. We like a place for our own with a private veranda of sitting place. In Kings Walden we missed that. Therefore we decided to go elsewhere."
