The Klein Karoo town of Calitzdorp is well known as the Port capital of South Africa, and the annual Port Festival which takes place in June each year offers a fun-filled weekend with activities on offer for the whole family. The Festival is hosted by the 8 Calitzdorp Wine Cellars.
The event will take place at the historic Calitzdorp Railway Station. Highlights of the festival include port and wine tastings, cellar tours, food demonstrations and wine, cheese and chocolate pairings. There will be plenty of market stalls offering food and country goods as well as entertainment for young and old alike including the Port Dance and tractor rides around town.
