The Klein Karoo National Arts Festival (KKNK) is an annual event generally held in April with a focus on Afrikaans artists. The KKNK includes both visual and performing arts and is considered to be South Africa’s largest arts festival.
The festival attracts over 1000 artists each year and many new productions have their first run in Oudtshoorn. The first festival took place in 1994 and has grown from strength to strength ever since.
