One of Africa’s greatest horse racing events, the Durban July attracts over 50 000 people per year to the Greyville Racecourse where South Africa’s best battle for top spot.
The exciting event started in 1897 and has been held on the first Saturday of July ever since. The horse is run on turf and the race is 2200 meters long racing for a prize money of R3.5 million.
